is the proud host of the 2010 Winter Olympics.
Sports of The Olympic Winter Games are: alpine skiing; biathlon; bobsleigh;
skeleton; luge; cross country skiing; curling; figure skating; freestyle
skiing; ice hockey; nordic combined; ski jumping; speed skating; short

Olympic Winter Games: February 12 to 28, 2010 (17 days)
The
2010 Olympic Winter Games will take place at the following locations:

The Alpine (downhill, super G, giant slalom, slalom, combined), Nordic
(biathlon, cross country skiing, nordic combined), Sliding (ski jumping,
bobsleigh, luge, skeleton) and Paralympic events are proposed to be held
in Whistler, 120 km north of Vancouver. Ice events including hockey, short
track speed skating and speed skating, as well as freestyle skiing and
snowboarding events will be held in the city of Vancouver.

· Opening ceremonies for the Vancouver Olympic Winter Games will
take place at BC Place Stadium in Vancouver.

Medal ceremonies will occur at both Whistler and Vancouver.
· Athletes' villages and media centres will be in both Vancouver
and Whistler.

Games?

Whistler is a premier, year-round resort destination that will benefit
greatly from the increased positive exposure associated with its candidate

The 2010 Vancouver Olympics also promise facility and sport legacies,
social housing, and will be a catalyst for public infrastructure improvements

to a recent economic study by the provincial Ministry of Competition,
Science and Enterprise, a winning 2010 Bid combined with an expanded convention
centre in Vancouver could result in the following economic benefits:
o Generate up to $10 billion in direct economic activity.
o Create about 228,000 direct and indirect jobs throughout the province.
o Result in up to $2.5 billion in incremental tax revenues.
